Lesson for the Day
Jun. 30th, 2002 10:53 pmDo not descend stairs in the dark in a stretchy ankle-length skirt and expect to avoid tripping. At least, had the ravens not flapped their wings and recovered their balance, there was no bike lurking in the hall, and hence a potential clear fall to the floor.
Haven't fallen down the stairs, yet, this year. I've done it about once a year since we moved here. So that's not quite eleven years, say eleven falls, generally from further up each time (falling round the bend requires skill, methinks!) and only 13 steps. In two-ish years time, do I get to start over from the lower steps? Should I just move to a place with more steps to the flight and continue until neck finally gets broken?
