Definitely a week for weather.
Monday was cold, the first day cold enough to really feel like winter. Still, too. By the time Looby Loo and the ravens cycled back along the river at 5.30 pm, the waters had settled to a complete calm with amazing refelections from the boat houses, street lamps and house boats. The air was crystal clear.
Tuesday was supposed to be warmer, but we don't believe it. It was dull and dampish.
Yesterday started out chill and damp and the fog settled further throughout the day. Walking along the road alongside the common and into the dip just before the football ground at 3.00 pm, we looked up. The floodlights at the four corners of the ground were lit. They shone weakly in the fog, four grids of six by four lamps, floating high above the ground with no visible means of support. Quite spooky. We gave the potential alien visitors a wave. Coming back twenty minutes later, the pylons were becoming more visisble and the effect was lost. Looby Loo, justifiably, complained about the air quality. By 8.00 pm, the mist was completely gone and the chill intesified. We walked to pixies: wearing the cloak over the coat makes cycling a little too dangerous and it was definitley a coat and cloak kind of night.
Today, it's raining.
We can't get warm.
